Frequently asked questions

What is NDIS support coordination?

NDIS support coordination is a funded service that helps participants understand, implement and manage their NDIS plan. A support coordinator connects you with the right providers, helps coordinate multiple services, and builds your confidence to manage your supports independently over time. Linq Coordination & Management provides support coordination across Melbourne and Adelaide — call us on 0434 601 682.

What are the three levels of NDIS support coordination?

NDIS support coordination is a funded service that helps participants understand, implement and manage their NDIS plan. A support coordinator connects you with the right providers, helps coordinate multiple services, and builds your confidence to manage your supports independently over time. Linq Coordination & Management provides support coordination across Melbourne and Adelaide — call us on 0434 601 682.

What is the difference between support coordination and plan management?

Support coordination helps you find and coordinate the right services to implement your NDIS plan. Plan management handles the financial side — paying invoices, tracking budgets, and managing claims. Both are funded separately in your NDIS plan and many participants benefit from having both.

How is support coordination funded in my NDIS plan?

Support coordination is funded under the Capacity Building budget. It is not included automatically — the NDIA must determine it is reasonable and necessary based on your needs and goals. Participants with complex needs, multiple providers, or significant NDIS system barriers are most likely to receive this funding.

Do I need a registered NDIS provider for support coordination?

If your plan is NDIA-managed, you must use a registered provider. If self-managed or plan-managed, you can choose registered or unregistered. Linq Coordination & Management is a registered NDIS provider meeting all NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

Can my support coordinator also provide my other NDIS services?

This is a conflict of interest issue. A support coordinator should act in your best interests when recommending providers — if they also deliver your other services, their recommendations may be biased. Linq Coordination & Management operates independently and always prioritises your goals.

Can I change my NDIS support coordinator?

Yes, you can change your support coordinator at any time. Check your service agreement for any notice period — usually 14 to 30 days — then contact your new provider to begin the transition. Your new coordinator can assist with the handover to ensure continuity of your supports.

What should I look for when choosing a support coordinator?

Look for a registered provider with experience in your disability type, strong knowledge of local providers, transparent communication, and no conflict of interest. Cultural and language compatibility is also important — many participants benefit from coordinators who share their background or speak their language.
